Mrs J B French died this morning at 5:30 o'clock at her home on Young street, of dropsy of the heart. She had been seriously ill about a week. Deceased was born in North Carolina 55 years ago. Her maiden name was Harriet Lynch. She came to this city with her husband and family from Tazewell county, Va, about 13 years ago. Mrs French was a faithful member of the Christian church and a short while before her death she talked freely with her family of her hopes of a blissful immortality and expressed her entire confidence in the saving grace of her Master. Her death was peaceful and triumphant.
Deceased is survived by her husband and seven children, as follows: Five sons, W B, T E, R P, A T and Rufus, and two daughters, Mrs W A Neal and Mrs J S Earls. One son, R P, arrived Sunday night from Southern Illinois.
The funeral will be held from the residence tomorrow afternoon, conducted by Rev W S Bullard, and interment will be made at Maple Park.
