CHAIKOSKY, Ella Blanche - 85, Halifax, passed away in the VG Site, QEII, on March 20, 2008. Born in Marshville, Pictou Co., she was a daughter of the late James and Lide (Murray) Langille. She was educated in River John and moved to Halifax in 1945. She was an employee of St. Mary's University for a number of years, where she also completed an English course in 1980. Ella was a member of the Northwood Players for a number of years, retiring because of ill health. She was an avid fortune teller and was well-known in the Halifax area. Surviving are son, Wade Hirtle, Bridgewater; sister, Marie Sellers, River John; several nieces and nephews, and good friend, Stephen Henderson, Halifax. She was predeceased by her husband, George, and a son, John Ridgley, by a previous marriage. She was also predeceased by daughter, Charmaine Ridgley; seven brothers and two sisters. A memorial service will be held on May 1 at 10:30 a.m. in Northwood Centre, 2615 Northwood Terrace, Halifax, Shirley Burnstein Hall, Rev. Jim Anderson officiating, reception following.
