Born March 25, 1927, in Shelbyville, he was the son of the late Harry C. and Grace Allison.
He married Lois B. Pierson on October 18, 1953, she preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughter, Julie (Mark) Richart of Beech Grove; sister, Catherine McNew of Shelbyville; brother, Harry Allison of Crown Point; granddaughter, Allison Richart; and grandson, Aaron Richart.
Mr. Allison was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Mary Sweet, Marilyn J. Grubb, and Carolyn Grundrum.
He was a lifelong resident of Shelby County until he moved to Beech Grove in 2004.
Mr. Allison was in a management position at The Kieblers Trucking Company in Indianapolis.
He was a United States Army veteran.
Mr. Allison graduated from Shelbyville in 1946 and attended Ball State University.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Elks Lodge.
Services were Thursday, at the Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison Street in Shelbyville, with the Rev. Bob Campbell officiating.
