“Rites Thursday for Odessan
Funeral services for Mittie Elzora Babb, 94, of 1906 North Lincoln, were set for 2 p.m.Thursday in the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home chapel with burial in Odessa Cemetery.
She died Tuesday at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born Nov. 7, 1879 in Rockdale County, Ga., and was married to James Ernest Babb on Nov. 23, 1896, in Atlanta, Ga. She moved to Odessa in 1948 for [sic] Atlanta, and was a Methodist.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. J.W. Welborn of 1906 North Lincoln, and Mrs. Clyde Gray of Panama City, Fla.; one son E. J. Babb Sr. of 1615 East 11th, six grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren.”
