She attended Konawa schools and worked as a cook for the Konawa school system. Margaret married Fred Joseph Kuestersteffen. She was of the Baptist faith, and she loved gardening and cooking and being with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Phillips of Konawa, and Sherry Butler also of Konawa; one sister, Billie Doner and husband, Gary of Konawa; one brother-in-law, James Kirkpatrick of Byng, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Tracy and Brad Burris of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Stacy and Brad Gee of Konawa, and Clayton Phillips of Konawa; and five great grandchildren, Sarah Gee, Kate Burris, Hannah Gee, Claire Burris, and Lydia Gee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Martha Abbott; her husband, Fred Kuestersteffen; one son, Fred Joseph Kuestersteffen, Jr.; two brothers, Bobby Joe Abbott and Fred LeRoy Abbott; four sisters, Helen Gattenby, Mary Lee Gattenby, Veda Mae Huggins, and Maxine Kirkpatrick.
A graveside memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. Pam Shirk will officiate.
