Mrs. Bert A. Nielsen, 79, Orange City, died Saturday in an Orange City hospital after a brief illness.

Martha K. Juhl, was born June 27, 1899, at rural Oyens, Iowa. She was married to Mr. Nielsen February 18, 1920, at Marcus, Iowa.

The couple farmed near Cleghorn until 1968, when they moved to Marcus. Mr. Nielsen died March 19, 1970, at Le Mars. Mrs. Nielsen had been a resident of Pioneer Home at Orange City since 1972.

Martha was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Ms. Helen Eckstein of Sioux City, Iowa and Mrs. Wendell (Lillian) Toenjes of Le Mars, Iowa; four sons, Harold of Sioux City, Iowa; Arnold of Doon, Iowa; Edwin of Onawa, Iowa and Philip of Dakota City, Nebraska; a sister, Mrs. Elmer (Marie) Nunemaker of Sioux City, Iowa; three brothers, Andrew Juhl of Le Mars, Iowa; Edward Juhl of Decorah, Iowa and Arthur Juhl of Vallejo, California; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
