Mr. Coy L. "Doc" Jones, age 90 of La Porte, formerly of Lovelady, left this world to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 7, 2007. Mr. Jones was born August 4, 1916 in Lovelady to Bev H. Jones and Lissie Belle Price. Mr. Jones was a member of Broadway Church of Christ in La Porte. Mr. Jones retired from Shell Oil and Chemical Plant early to go back to the farm he loved so well in Lovelady.
Survivors include his wife Wilma Donahoe Jones whom he married in 1992; two daughters Sherry Dayne Arnold, of Houston and Janice Blackmon and husband, L. V. "Blackie" Blackmon, of Dickinson; stepsons Doug Donahoe and wife Marilyn, of La Porte, Ken Donahoe and wife Nancy, of Crosby and David Donahoe and wife Sonya, of Clear Lake City; four grandchildren Cindy Van Breeman, Sam Arnold, Phylise Smith and Kim Floyd; and many other family members, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and loving friends; sister Rupie Lee Johnson.
Preceded in death by his first wife Moselle McManners Jones; sisters Frankie, Lillie Mae, and Marie; and brothers Loyd, Floyd and Dee Jones.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Coy L. "Doc" Jones were held Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Antioch Cemetery in Lovelady with Mr. Carl Allen officiating.
