Born on August 9, 1897, in Flawil, Switzerland, he had been a long-time resident of Chappaqua and Mt. Kisco, where he had worked as a caretaker of private estates. He was a communicant of St. Mary's and St. John's Church, Chappaqua. He leaves his wife, the former Hermina Ledergerber, of the home address; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth McKenna of Cedaredge, Colo., Mrs. Margaret Carl of Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. Helen Dunn of Katonah, and Mrs. Elizabeth Schloemer of Mahopac; six grandchildren; and a brother and a sister in Switzerland. Requiem mass will be held today (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Katonah. Interment will be at St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery, Brewster. Clark Funeral Home in Katonah holds visiting hours on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
