John Leo Deaver was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of the late Samuel and Stella Isis Barrell Deaver. On February 17, 1952 he married Mary Alice Howard Deaver. Prior to moving to Wayne County, Tennessee, Mr. Deaver resided for several years in Florence, Alabama. John, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marines, served in World War II and the Korean War. He was retired from Tennessee Valley Authority as a chemical engineer. He died Wednesday at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 85.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 2 sons and 7 brothers and sisters.
