Mrs. Reese was born in Caseyville, Ill., on August 10, 1850. There she resided until 1877 when she was married [24 May 1877] to John B. Reese of St. Louis. The wedding ceremony was performed at the home of Mr. Reese. Eight children were born to the union, five of whom survived. They are Ben [Benjamin Frederick] Reese, John [Ulysses] Reese, Walter [Augustus] Reese, Zella Reese and Mrs. Celeste Bosen all residing in Collinsville. She is also survived by one brother, A. [August] L. Roy, of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. J. [Justine] Smercina and Mrs. Zella Flood of St. Louis.
Mrs. Reese has been a resident of Collinsville for thirty-five years. Her husband died eighteen years ago.
Funeral services will be held this morning at 9:30 from the SS. Peter and Paul’s church. Rev. F. A. Marks will officiate. The burial will be at the Caseyville cemetery.
