Aaron Douglas Bolen Sr, 68, of Josephine went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at his home. Born July 6, 1944 at Josephine, WV, he was the son of the late Carl and Aldena Lilly Bolen. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Gracie Wilson, and his Mother-in-law, Irene Lawson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years Julia A. Kelley Bolen; daughters, Teresa Wilcox and husband Andy of Cool Ridge,WV, Patty Bolen and Fiance Chris Ellison of Josephine; sons Aaron “Dougie” Bolen Jr., and wife Heather of Josephine, Eric Jay Fielder and wife Terri of Pemberton; grandchildren, Chrystal and Justin Massie, Stephanie Thompson and Beth Hammons, Joshua and Justin Thompson, Chance, Audri and Bailee Bolen, Brianna Ellison and Krista Hughes; great Grandchildren Alyssa, Summer, Michael Bolen and Gabrielle Massie; a brother-in-law, Arlie Wilson; sister-in-law, Debbie Jo Sullivan; and two Nephews Donald Abner and Billy Abner.

Doug was a retired Coal Miner of 26 years. He spent his time enjoying the outdoors and fishing however his greatest joy was his family.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Melton Mortuary with the Rev. Roger Tolliver officiating. Friends and Family may gather from 11 a.m. until time of services.

Pallbearers will be Andy Wilcox, Justin Massie, Beth Hammons, Chris Ellison, Donnie Abner, Billy Abner and Daniel Abner.
