Mary Lillian Chambliss Charlton, 88, formerly of Lilbourn, died on Thursday, March 21, 2019, in Lecanto, FL, at Life Care Center of Citrus County. She was born on August 25, 1930, in Marston, MO, daughter of Raymond W. Nelson and Alice E. Hodges.

Mary retired from Lilbourn Public School where she worked as Head Cook. For over 5 decades, she was an active part of First Church of God in Lilbourn, MO, where she served in many roles.

In 1946, she married Edward Martin Chambliss, who preceded her in death on July 5, 1991. In 1996, she married J.B. Charlton, who preceded her in death on November 15, 2007.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sistersMary Lillian Chambliss-Charlton, 88, of Crystal River, FL, died on Thursday, March 21, 2019, in Lecanto, FL at LifeCare Center. She was born on August 25, 1930, in Marston, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond and Alice Nelson.

Mary was a life-long member of First Church of God in Lilbourn. She was involved in a number of areas, but specifically in the Sunday School where she served as a Teacher and Sunday School Superintendant. She was very active and was always willing to help when it where it was needed.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 40 years, Ed Martin Chambliss; second husband, J.B. Charlton; and her parents.

Survivors include daughter, Shirley Gale Wymer (Todd) of Indianapolis, IN; son, Michael Edward Chambliss of Crystal River, FL; sister, Betty Smith of New Madrid, MO; 6 grandchildren, Troy Wymer (Kristen) of Indianapolis, IN, Michael Chambliss (Melissa) of Crystal River, FL, Tracy Wymer (Diane) of Oak Park, CA, Jamie Graviett (Douglas) of Lecanto, FL, Kristen McCormick (Robert) of Hilliard, FL, and Heidi Wymer of Ponte Vedra, FL; as well as 12 great grandchildren, Ben, Reese, Lucy, Abigail, Mason, Logan, Jordan, Lily, Noah, Anna, Sara, and Ansley.

Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston with Rev. Eric McGruder officiating.
