A real estate "dealer" and farmer, living on Murry Hill in Lewisburg, he was 65 years old and single when he died of extensive bronchiogenic carcinoma on July 5, 1948 at Nashville's Saint Thomas Hospital, where he had been for five days. Burial was two days later in Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg.
