Rebecca “Beckie” Eldredge Hoyt
1957 - 2019

Early Life: Rebecca "Beckie" was born July 3, 1957, in Provo, Utah, to George Donald and Velma Hatch Eldredge, the seventh of eight children. Growing up, she lived all over the Western United States, including a prison farm in Wyoming.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: She always loved being in the mountains, camping, hiking, playing sports and watching her kids play sports. Beckie loved serving others and teaching her kids to serve. Many previous neighbors ask if her sons were the boys who always shoveled their snow. She always spoke of playing ball with her brothers and helping her dad carry hod on his work site. She was never afraid of hard work and tried, sometimes unsuccessfully, to instill this work ethic in her kids. One of her favorite assignments in church was teaching and serving the youth, especially the teenagers, who usually ended up at her house for movies, food and socializing. Beckie was blessed with many talents; one that she often shared was sewing and quilting. She worked at The Cotton Shop in Provo for many years, she taught numerous classes on how to sew and quilt, and she hired out as a seamstress for wedding dresses, drill team outfits and many more. On road trips with her family, she enjoyed sitting in the backseat having fun with the kids, including one time piercing her sons’ ears with an ice cube and a needle. Even with severe memory issues, she laughed and smiled, enjoying precious moments with her children and loved ones. Rebecca “Beckie” Eldredge Hoyt passed from this life March 19, 2019. She was 61.
Family Message: "Most of our memories of Mom involve loud laughter, sarcasm, joking and having fun... We will miss her smile, her laugh and her hugs."
Survived By: Her children: Andre Hoyt, Breann Lehr, Chad Hoyt, Drew Hoyt, Ryan Hoyt, Audrey Hoyt, Madison Hoyt and Kelsey Hoyt; her siblings: Susan Moon, Tanya Carpenter, Cheryl Krum, Randy Eldredge, Gary L. Prince, Craig A. Prince, Liz Nesbit, and Todd Eldredge; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
