Annie Gibbons Jones was born in Wolverhampton, England, the daughter of Edward Gibbons and Mary Willington. She married Alfred Jones on March 5, 1893 in the Parish of St. Mark. Together, they had four sons: Alfred Edgar, Thomas Edward, Ernest Frank, and Harold Robert, and four daughters: Eleanor Mary, Minnie, Jessie, and Jeanette. They arrived in Philadelphia on November 11, 1907 and went to Cleveland to stay with Annie's sister Jane ("Jennie") Gibbons Riddle and her husband William. They moved to Chagrin Falls in 1908.
