Venna was born in Preston, Idaho on 8 February 1928, to the late Caleb Johnson and Agnes Amelia (Ransom) Burton. She was raised in Box Elder County, but graduated from Logan High School.
On 25 July 1946, Venna married her sweetheart, Clive Francis Waters, in the Logan Temple. They enjoyed seventy-one years of married life and raised eight children before Clive's passing.
Venna and Clive loved to dance and were dance directors for many years. Venna also sewed clothes for their children, and liked to do cross-stitch, knit, cooking, and crochet. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in many capacities, to include Relief Society President and a Primary worker.
She and Clive served as missionaries at the Bishops' Store House, where Venna always made sure the children had mittens and hats. The couple also served as workers in the Ogden Temple for seven-and-a-half years.
Venna was preceded in death by her husband, Clive, her parents and siblings.
She was survived by her children; thirty-four grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held in the Brigham City Cemetery on Saturday, 2 December 2017, under the direction of Gillies Funeral Home.
