Elton Hodges, 83, of Locust St., Elwood, was buried Wednesday in Elwood Rural Cemetery. Funeral service was held in the First Holines Church of God, Elwood, with Elder Moses Walton officiating.
Mr. Hodges died Friday in Senator Convalescent Center, Atlantic City, following a lengthy illness. A native of Midville, Ga., he was an area resident for 51 years. He was a retired railroad employee.
Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Grace Crump and Mrs. Claudia Guy, both of Elwood; a son Walter of jamaico, Long Island, N.Y.; a sister Alice of Miami; two brothers, Clarence of Opalocka, Fla. and Walter William of Midville, Ga.: 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
