Ruthela M. Lewis-Miller, 86 of Galion passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019.

Born September 15, 1932 in Lima, she was the daughter of Harold J. and Lena H. (Sherfey) Wright. She first married Robert E. Lewis on March 11, 1956 and he preceded her on September 4, 1968 and she then married Robert D. Miller on July 3, 1976 and he preceded her on January 9, 1997.

Ruthela was a proud loving mother and grandmother who was strong in her faith and will. She openly embraced everyone she loved into her loving arms. Often feisty and kind, she enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

When she wasn’t being and active member at St. Paul United Methodist Church singing in the choir and attending various church functions or services; she would be at home crocheting many craft projects or loudly cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes. She could also be seen cheering on her grandchildren and great grandchildren at sporting events and school functions. Ruthela delighted in spending time with her friends from Positive Christian Singles Group. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

A proud Galionite who loved eating out at local eateries such as Taylors Restaurant and Granny’s Kitchen, she enjoyed listening to hometown music in the summer program of the Music in the Park.

Ruthela is survived by three children, Lena (Jeffrey) Schroff, Sr. of Galion, Roberta (Christopher) Corwin of Freemont, IN. and Harold (Lori) Lewis of Broadway, Ohio; three stepdaughters, Terry Roose of Mifflin, Linda Mullins of Grand Rapids, MI. and Audrey Miller of Sylvania, GA.; 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Weaver of Buffalo, NY. And Margaret Martin of Melbourne, Fla..
In addition to her two husbands and parents she is also preceded by daughter, Betty J. Coder, two stepsons, David R. Miller and Martin Miller, brother, John D. Wright and four sisters, Norma Anderson, Irene Hinkle, Zoe Anna Nawrocik and Betty J. Wright.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 746 Cherry Street, Galion, Ohio 44833 with Pastor Ash Welch officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Crestline.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church or to American Kidney Foundation in care of the funeral home.
