Memorial services were held Saturday, August 12 at First United Methodist Church in Stratford with Rev. John Wagoner, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Panhandle, officiating, assisted by Dr. Clifford Trotter of the Texas Methodist Foundation in Amarillo.
Graveside services were held earlier that morning at Stratford Cemetery. Arrangements are through Morrison Funeral Directors in Stratford.
She was born June 26, 1913 in Hall County, and had lived in Dalhart since April. Prior to that she lived in Stratford for many years, from 1959 until 1968, and from 1978 until 1995. She married R. T. DYESS on January 8, 1937 in Clarendon.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Stratford, and was employed at Morrison Funeral Directors in Stratford for several years.
She is survived by her husband, R. T., of the home; three sons, Todd DYESS of Perryton, Jerry DYESS of Dalhart and Sam DYESS of Seattle, Washington; one brother, Hardy Buford Todd of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
