The largest funeral that has taken place from St. Peter's Church In some years was the one this morning, when all that was mortal of Mrs. Helen Wilson Harkins, wife of ex-Alderman John Harkins, was borne to its last resting place. The funeral took place from her late residence, 51 Easton avenue, at 8:30 o'clock, and reached from the house to the church. At the church a solemn high mass of requiem was chanted for the repose of her soul, with Rt. Rev. Mgr. J. A. O'Grady, celebrant; Rev. Father Arthur Strensky, deacon, and Rev. Father James Gough, sub-deacon. In a touching eulogy Mgr. O'Grady, who preached the funeral sermon, paid high tribute to the life of the deceased. During the services Vincent J. Carberry rendered very sweetly the solo, "Rest, Spirit, Rest." The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. The pall bearers were James Dunlap, Joseph Ridgeway, Frank Victory, William Masterson. Richard Barnwell and Edward Houghton. The interment was in St. Peter's cemetery under the direction of W. J. McDede.
