Norma Mae Caywood Sumner Heaton passed away March 8, 2019 at the age of 86. She was born April 11, 1932 in Council Grove, Kansas to Dayton Ernest Caywood & Kathryn Marie Zink Caywood. Norma graduated from Council Grove High School in 1949. She married Clarence Manoah Sumner on Sept 1, 1951. They had four sons; Clarence, Jeffrey, Chris, & Randy. Clarence Manoah died in 1958.

When the boys were almost grown, Norma went back to school to become an LPN. She began working at the Morris County Hospital and continued there until retirement. Norma and Roger Heaton married in 1997 in Council Grove.

Norma was a member of the Wilsey Christian Church.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Clarence, and sons, Jeffrey Sumner and Chris Sumner, and one sister, Jean Carson.

Survivors include husband, Roger of the home; sons, Clarence & wife, Reba, Wilsey; Randy & wife, Christine, and daughter-in-law, Pam (Chris Sumner) and husband Will, all of Council Grove; and three step-sons, Rand, Rod & Ryan Heaton of Wichita. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and spouses, 11 great grandchildren, several step-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service celebrating Norma's life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, March 16th, at Wilsey Christian Church. A private family inurnment will be held at Wilsey Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Morris County Hospital Scholarship fund in honor of Norma Sumner Heaton.
