Silent Film Actress. Born Merna Phyllis Tibbetts, daughter of William George and Nellie (née Leach) Tibbetts. Began her career in the cast of The Ziegfeld Follies in 1923 and transitioned to silent films in 1924. In 1927 she had roles in five films and was selected as one of thirteen women to be WAMPAS Baby Stars. She starred in nine films in 1928 and ten films the following year. In 1934, she married Alexander Bennett, brother of actresses Enid, Marjorie, and Catherine Bennett. She retired from acting after 1935, becoming a teacher and librarian in later years.
