When the William, Rebecca, Robert and Penniah moved to North Carolina in 1776, they lived on Mulberry Road several miles from Guilford Courthouse. William's parents and some siblings also moved at the same time. The British were confiscating there property in Tennessee and most of the Motheral's moved to Mecklenberg, N.C. and some moved to Orange, N.C.
Robert and his sister, Penniah's baptismal records are at the Presbyterian Church, Fawn, York Co., Pa. Robert Modrall was 9 or 10 years old when his mother, Rebecca McCullough Modrall, died in 1784 or 1785
