Robert was born October 28, 1944 in Baytown, Texas to Don Earl and Betty Louise Franklin. He moved to Kilgore in the early 1960's. Robert worked for Ranger Well Service as a tool pusher. Mr. Franklin was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church Liberty City where he enjoyed working in the children's department and evangelism. His greatest joy was his family especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Franklin is survived by his wife, Sherri Harris Hardee Franklin of Liberty City; children, Paul Franklin and his wife, Stephani of Liberty City, Donny Franklin and his fiance, Roberta Hornbeck of Hallsville, Joel Franklin and his wife, Colleen of Surprise, Arizona, Scott Hardee and his wife, Caroline of Liberty City, Robbie Hardy and her husband, Larry of Kilgore, Jeff Hardee and his wife, Chelina of Liberty City; fifteen grandchildren, Tiffany Caldmeyer and her husband, Chris of Longview, Whitney Franklin of Dallas, Allysa Hall of Ft. Worth, Dillon Huhn of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Hagen Hardee of Tyler, Shelly Powell of Kilgore, Tucker Franklin of Liberty City, Spencer Franklin of Liberty City, Madeline Hardy of Kilgore, Abigail Franklin of Surprise, Arizona, Tanner Hardee of Liberty City, Wade Franklin of Shreveport, Landry Hardee of Liberty City, Tristan Hardee of Liberty City, Bryan Hardy of Kilgore; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Pat Franklin of Baytown, Lynn Franklin of Baytown, Bubba Franklin of Baytown, Jenny Roberts of Liberty City; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion "Shyster."
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Sunday afternoon between 2:00 - 4:00 P.M.
