Gerald A. Lamberies
June 19, 1927 - March 6, 2019

Gerald A. Lamberies, age 91 of Shawano, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Born on June 19, 1927 in Gresham, he is the son of the late Aloys and Lucille (Hoffman) Lamberies. Gerald spent most of his life in the Town of Wescott. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Opperman on June 26, 1948, at St. Jakobi Lutheran Church. Gerald worked for M.J. Zimmerman Excavating in Shawano prior to his employment as a maintenance foreman for the Town of Wescott. He loved music and for many years, he had his own band that played country, rock and polka music. He enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, and boating, as well as watching the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. He played in a horseshoe league for several years and was a member of the Shawano American Legion Post #117.

He is survived by: his wife, Phyllis; three children, Kathy Laska of Shawano, Koreen (Rob Schroeder) Wesener of Shawano, Mark (Kathee) Lamberies of Gaylord, MI; five grandchildren, K.J. (Charmaine) Schreiber, Jerry (Jamie) Schreiber, Chad Lamberies, Stacy (Todd) Formanczyk, Scott (Brenda) Lamberies; 13 great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; and two half-sisters, Elizabeth Knaack and Patricia (Bill) Herms.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. Jan McDermid officiating. Military honors will be held following the service, conducted by the Shawano American Legion Post #117. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Lake Drive Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Unity Hospice.
