Isabella Abney was the first spouse of William Campbell Rhea, Jr. and they married on 30 Mar 1824 in Green County, Kentucky. They had two daughters: Narcissa M Rhea (1832) and Isabella Vasser Rhea (1835). After Isabella died around 1843-44, William remarried to her second cousin, widow Tamer (McClanahan) McKinney in 1845..... Created by: RAy&Jay.

Suggested edit:
This family left Augusta County in 1799 and never returned. John Key Abney received a land grant in Green Co., KY in 1799. He definitely moved there…and married Betsy Gill on 01 May 1800 in Green Co., KY. Betsy must have died shortly after the marriage.

On 04 Apr 1803, John Key Abney married Tamar Ann Robinson in Fincastle, Montgomery Co., VA. Montgomery County is a long way off from Augusta County (and even further from Green Co., KY). The only reason John Key Abney married Tamar in Montgomery County is because that’s where she was from. He married in the bride’s county. Immediately, he returned to Green Co., KY which was his home. All 8 of his children were born in Green Co., KY. The children branched out. But there is nothing to indicate that John Key Abney ever left Green Co., KY. He died there before 1828. By the way, he is on the 1820 census in Greensburgh, Green County, KY.

I give you that history to show that “this” Isabella was born ca.1805 in Green Co., KY. She married William Rhea 30 Mar 1824 IN GREEN CO., KY.

The 4 daughters of William Campbell Rhea Jr. & Isabella Abney were born in Green Co., KY.
