FREMONT.----A. G. Cromer, a young man who came here recently from Batesville, Ark., was drowned in the Skunk river Sunday. Cromer was in bathing with seven others and was caught in a whirlpool. Frank Ray, a member of the party, endeavored to save him and came near losing his own life. The drowned boy was a member of the extra section gang of workmen on the Iowa Central.
