A McCracken County native, he was a retired Baptist minister and a member of Rosebower Baptist Church.

Survivors Include his wife, Mrs. Adelle Fox Bowland; two sons, James A. Bowland of Symsonia and Danny M. Bowland of Sharpe; a brother, Kenneth Bowland of Paducah; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Bowland will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rosebower Baptist Church. The Rev. Kenneth Puckett will officiate and burial will be in the Rosebower Cemetery.
