Annie Omeita Averhart, age 81, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2019 Port St. Lucie, FL. Born in Athens AL, she was raised in Bay AR by her loving parents Henry and Bertha Thomas. She married Thomas Gene Averhart of Bay in 1952 and they moved to Chicago IL in 1954.

Annie was a faithful housewife and loving mother of five children. She was a devout Christian her whole life and an active member of Apostolic church in Joliet and later West Palm Beach after their retirement and subsequent move to West Palm Beach, FL. Annie had the nickname of ''the happy one'' due to her always present smile, positive outlook on life and can-do attitude.

She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Gene (Sept. 2007) age 73, her eldest son Micheal Gene (Feb. 1975) age 18, and granddaughter Rebecca (June 2010) age 24, brothers Bobby, Pleas, Calvin, Jerry and sisters Lois and Violet.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter Theresa (Greg) Smith and sons Jimmy (Terry) Averhart, Tommy (Jill) Averhart, and Stephen (Karla) Averhart. Proud Grandmother (Mawmaw) to Amy, Jennifer, Michael, Allison, Alex, Danae and Bailey. Great Grandmother to TJ, Jackson, Emmalee, and Gemma. Also Loving daughter in law Stephanie Chase and devoted sister Opal Thomas.

Church funeral will be held at Apostolic Christian Church, West Palm Beach, FL on March 5 from 6-8pm. Wake will be at Rollers-Farmers Union Funeral Home with burial to follow at Pine Log Cemetery, Brookland AR (time TBA). All services to be officiated by her pastor Elder Scott Kerr.
