Ada Lorene "Snookie" Agner of Gainesville died Saturday in Gainesville. She was 85. Mrs. Agner was a retired bookkeeper. Born in Shelby, Miss., she moved from Shelby to Gainesville 45 years ago. She was a retired organist at First Assembly, a Pink Lady at Alachua General Hospital, a former member of Gideon's Auxiliary and an organist at Oaks Residential for 25 years. She enjoyed sewing and gospel music.

Mrs. Agner attended Northwood Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, George E. Agner Jr. of Gainesville; a daughter, Sally G. Shipp of Gainesville; a son, George W. Shipp of Newberry; a sister, Gwen Westbrook Howell of Oxford, Miss.; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Kemper of Fountain, Colo.

Note: According to the 1930 census, Ada was a cousin of the Westbrooks, not Gwendolyn's sister. She is too old to be a sister, as the parents were only 14 when she was born.
