Born 10 December 1923 to Henry and Nellie Dickerson Kerr in Lincoln Kansas. Had brothers named William (Bill), James (Jim), Malcolm and Harold. Had a sister named Wilma Mae. Married Ruth Wiegh on 5 March 1949 in Western, Saline County, Nebraska. She prreceded him in death on 14 October 2007 and is buried in the same cemetery as Floyd.
