Vernal is buried in the same cemetery as her daughter, Betty Louise Everly Davisson and her first husband, John Kermit Everly.

Vernal E. (Courter) Everly, age 87, of Liberty, Missouri, formerly of Coffey and Gallatin, Missouri, died, Friday, May 18, 2001, at the Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri.

Mrs. Everly was born on May 15, 1914, in Coffey, Missouri. She was a homemaker had farmed and was owner and operator of several restaurants in Gallatin. She resided in the Gallatin and Coffey, Missouri areas for most of her life.

Mrs. Everly was of Christian faith.

Mrs. Everly was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Callie (Cummings) Courter; her daughter, Betty Daviesson; and her four sisters, Chole Klint, Thelma Gannon, Mary Russo, and Donna Cerami.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Lee Robertson, of Liberty, Missouri; her seven grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren; and a host of dear family and friends.

Graveside services and burial were held Monday, May 21, 2001 at the Coffey Cemetery, Coffey, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the Gallatin First Christian Church (Building Fund) or to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. Services were under the direction of Hope-Eldringhoff Funeral Home, Gallatin, Missouri.
