He was the son of Nicholas Gray who born 1850 (immigrated 1852, aka Nicholas Grais) siblings still carry Grais spelling. Roy’s mother was Martha Estella Roxanne (Whaley)Gray Bn Oct 18, 1854. Roy married 30 Sept 1920 in Harlan Iowa to Kunegunde “Kune” (Kuni) Hoeller born 1898 near Koeltztown, Missouri, border of Maries and Osage counties. She was daughter of Frank Hoeller (also so Hoellerer) and Ursula “Katherine” Evers (Ewers) Kune was in the Shelby Co IA area with her sister Elizabeth Mertens, (Mrs Stephen J). Roy died from a ruptured appendix after being kicked in the stomach.
