A native of Madison County, Alabama, Mr. Fite was the son of the late Augusta P. and Hazel Fugatt Fite and the husband of Erma Jean Fite who died in 2018. He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U. S. Army 24th Infantry. Mr. Fite was a retired employee of Genesco and the Fayetteville Fire Department. He enjoyed nature, feeding birds and animals and taking care of his yard. Mr. Fite was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville. He was a life member of the 24th Infantry Division Association.
Mr. Fite is survived by his daughter, Cindy Sanders and husband Matt of Fayetteville, two sisters, Betty Rutledge of Fayetteville and Carolyn Fite of Winchester and several other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fayetteville Humane Society in honor of Mr. Fite.
