EVANS MILLS - Karl E. Dixon, 67, lifelong resident of Pamelia, was pronounced dead on arrival at Mercy Hospital Friday at 5 p.m. He had been in failing health since July.
A private funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Frederick Brothers Funeral Home, Evans Mills, with Rev. Robert Cough, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
There will be no calling hours.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice, three step-sons, Michael Aimonetti, Smithport, Pa., Jeffrey, Seven Fountains, Va., Jonathan, Pamelia; a step-daughter Mrs. Scott (Eunice) Terndrup, Front Royal, Va.; and two step-grandchildren. A brother, Eugene, predeceased him.
He was born in Pamelia Nov. 21, 1911, a son of the late Banforth and Kate Augsbury Dixon. He was educated in local schools and on Dec. 2, 1932, he married Bertha Riordan. She died in 1966.
On Dec, 27, 1969, he married Eunice Van Ess Aimonetti. He retired from farming in 1966 and worked as a custodian at the Indian River Central School branch of Evans Mills.
Mr. Dixon was a member of the Evans Mills Odd Fellows 291, the Pamelia Grange.
