Irene Zink Furstenberg, 95, born March 13, 1923, in Shoal Creek, Arkansas. Irene passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on February 25, 2019, in Houston, Texas.
Predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Lawrence G. Furstenberg. She is survived by sons: Danny (Peggy), Gerald, John (Virginia) Furstenberg, daughters: Mary Gail (Cesar) Fermin, Patti (Robert) Lambert, grandchildren: Erika, Victoria, Richard, Joseph, Maria, Caroline, Juliana, Aaron, Travis, Jessica, Rachel, Jeanette, Harmony, Terese, Clare, and fourteen great grandchildren.
Irene grew up in Shoal Creek and Paris, Arkansas. She married in 1946 in Paris and then moved to Houston. She has been a member of St. Christopher Parish since 1946.
Family will begin receiving friends on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston TX 77023. Funeral mass will be on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 8150 Park Pl Blvd, Houston, TX 77017. Interment will follow at 11:30 am at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
