Richard “Rick” Applegate, 63, North Manchester, passed away February 27, 2019 in Fort Wayne, Indiana at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home. On October 3, 1955, Rick was born to David E. and Betty J. (King) Applegate in Wabash, Indiana.

Rick was a member at the Loyal Order of Moose #1518 and the Sons of the American Legion Post #286 both of North Manchester. He enjoyed watching NASCAR especially Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliott. Being a lover of the outdoors, Rick played corn hole and went camping. Most of all, he loved spending time with friends, family, and his grandkids.

Rick will be remembered by his companion of 33 years, Kay Aughinbaugh, North Manchester; one son Rick (Annette) Applegate, Birdseye, IN; two daughters Kara (Damien) Shepherd, North Manchester and Chanda Applegate, Fort Wayne, IN; four brothers Michael E. Applegate, Springfield, OH, David (Rosemary) W. Applegate, Laketon, IN, Robert L. Applegate, North Manchester, IN, and David E. Bolin, Silver Springs, FL; two sisters Belinda Rose Klemann, Panama City Beach, FL and Debbie J. (Richard) Brooks, Panama City Beach, FL; and four grandchildren, Olivia and Ethan Applegate and Kody, Harper, and Klayton Shepherd. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Diane Applegate.
