Mrs. Helen A. Littell, widow of the Rev. Dr. Thomas Gardiner Littell, rector of St. John's Church, Wilmington, Del., died at her home, 147 Park Avenue, this morning of complication of ailments following an illness of three years. She was in her 76th year. Mrs. Littell was born at Dover, Del., Oct 6. 1848. She was the daughter of the Hon. and Mrs. Samuel Maxwell Harrington. Her father was prominent in official circles in Delaware. During a period of 37 years, Mr. Harrington was successively Secretary of State, Chief Justice of the Superior Court and Chancellor of the State. Mrs. Littell was married June 11, 1887, to Dr. Littell at Wilmington, Del., where Dr. Littell was rector of St. John's Church for 27 years. Later Dr. Littell was on the staff of the New York City Mission, holding the post 10 years. Mrs. Littell is survived by a brother, Rear Admiral Parnell S. Harrington U.S. Navy, retired, of Yonkers; two sisters, Miss Mary Harrington and Miss Lydia Harrington, both of Wilmington, Del; three sons, the Rev. John S. Littell, D.D., of Hartford, Conn., ths Rev. Samuel Harrington Littell for the past 28 years of Hankow, China, and Dr. Elton O. Llttell, medical director of the Yonkers Public Schools, and two daughters, Miss Helen A. Littell and Miss Mary Morris Littell, both of Yonkers. She also leaves 13 grandchildren. Private funeral services will be conducted in St. John's Church, Getty Square. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.
