Contrary evidence to Will's death certificate has determined that William Henry was actually the son of Washington Ross Beers and Mary Augustine. 'Ross' divorced Mary before 1899. Mary remarried to Isaiah Edwards and 'Will' took the name of his step-father.

William H. Edwards' Obituary:

William H. Edwards, eighty-three, 2125 E. 10th Apt 4 died Thursday at Hamot Hospital following a brief illness. He was a member of the Huzar Club.

Born in East Brady, Pa., he has resided in Erie since 1915. Mr. Edwards had worked for the Erie Steam SHovel for many years and had retired from the Buffalo Slag Company as General Foreman in 1954. Mr. and Mrs. Edwards would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary October 30.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (Wiliams) Edwards; one son, Wilbert J. Edwards, McKean; four daughters, Mrs. Virginia Post, Erie; Mrs. Helen Earet (sic) Ehret, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Gladys Malone, Erie and Mrs. Caroline Beckett, Buffalo, N.Y., forty-two grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the C.J. Dusckas Funeral Home, 2607 Buffalo Road, Friday from 7 to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Prayer services will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. followed by Requiem Mass at Mount Calvary Church at 9 a.m.
