Born April 27, 1928 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to William Henry and Erma Irene Pelton Grant, Joanne Marie Breuning departed this life peacefully in her sleep on February 24, 2019 at the age of 90.

In the late 1940's, Joanne relocated to California with her parents and siblings.

Joanne met her husband of sixty-six years at a USO dance and they were married on September 13, 1952. The ups and downs of being a career military wife did not seem to phase Joanne. She took the varied postings in hand until retirement in 1969, when they settled in Oxnard, California. In 1991, the couple moved to Fresno. Together, they had five children.

Joanne became interested in genealogy in the early 1990's and soon became the family historian tracing the family origins to France and Germany. This interest took her and her husband on several fact-finding trips across the United States and into Canada.
