Born in Travelers Rest, he was a son of the late Claude Butler “Pop” and Ora Estelle Ferguson Batson. Mr. Batson was retired from John D. Hollingsworth and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife, JoAnn T. Batson; two daughters, Debbie Foster (Jerry) and Donna Eppley (Keith); a brother, Ray Batson (Karen); a sister, Diane Blackwell (Jerry) and two grandsons, James Foster and Will Eppley.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Faye Belcher Batson in 1991.
Burial in Mountain View Memorial Park.
