Marion Faye Kellum (Akins) passed away peacefully at Oatfield Estates Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at the age of 93.

Marion was born Dec. 17, 1924 in Statesboro, Ga., to Pleasant and Pearl Akins. She attended secondary school after high school and met Harrison while working as a secretary for the Army Air Corps. After completing military service, they moved to Oregon where they opened a car dealership and started a family. Marion helped run the dealership and was a Datsun dealer for over 20 years.

Her hobbies included bridge, golf and world travel. Her passion for education led to sponsoring scholarships at two colleges. Marion also loved entertaining and gardening. She was a member of PTO for 50 years and a dedicated member of St. John's Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her children, Marianne (Phil) Richardson, Palmer (Mary) Kellum; three grandchildren, Alex, Amanda and Jared; as well as three great-grandchildren, Jillian, Alexandra and Arya. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison; and three siblings, Sarah, Hilda and Dick.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Nov. 17, 2018, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Milwaukie, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marion' life. The family would like to thank Oatfield Estates staff for the care and compassion they provided through the years as well as their dedication in making Marion as comfortable as possible in her last moments.
