Mrs. Whiteside was born Oct. 7, 1914, in Bridgeport, Calif.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Edwin, at home; one daughter, Barbara Whiteside of Smithtown, N.Y.; and one brother, Richard Barnes of Reno, Nev.
Mrs. Whiteside graduated from the University of Nevada and taught school in Nevada for four years. She was a seamstress and made clothes for her family.
A funeral will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel, followed by private burial in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The casket will be open from 5 to 9 tonight, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the the funeral home. Columbian, Monday, November 29, 1999
