Donald Wayne Mickey, the son of John and Ethel (Waite) Mickey, was born in Osceola, Nebraska on August 8, 1937 and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on February 6, 2019, at the age of 81.
Don grew up on a farm near Osceola. He attended school in Osceola and graduated from Osceola High School.
Don was united in marriage to Murlene Miller on October 11, 1954 at Schuyler, Nebraska. They had two children, Debi and Curtis. They farmed in the Osceola area for 26 years and had other various jobs until retirement. They moved to Aurora in 2006, to be closer to family.
Don especially liked to spend time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. They were especially grateful when he made them homemade ice cream.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; 6 siblings, Louis, Bob, Irene, Fern, Grace and Maxine.
