L.W."BUDDY" COMPTON
Services for L. W. (Buddy) Compton, 83, of Colorado City were held at10 a.m. Tuesday at graveside with the Rev. Leon Green officiating. Burial was in the Colorado City Cemetery.
Mr. Compton died July 17, 1993 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater, Texas. He was born June 3, 1910 in Nimrod, Eastland County, Texas. He married Ina Bess Lee September 19, 1936 in Sweetwater, she preceded him in death on January 15, 1957. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Ora Compton, three brothers, Clarence Compton, Clint Compton and Dick Compton; one sister, Lucile Compton.
Survivors include two sons Clinton Edward (Buddy) Compton of San Antonio and Stephen Ray Compton of Los Angeles, California; two daughters, Mary Beth Love of Houston and Marsha Mann of Coahoma; one brother Harvey Compton of Irving; four sisters, Hazel McCollum of Loraine, Grace Wyatt, Claudia McCreary, and Joyce Knappe of Big Spring.
Ten grandchildren, Scott Love, Leslie Fletcher, Douglas Love, Ann Zigler, Kaci Compton, Wade Compton, Jan Compton, Terri Pearson, Jerry Mann and Jessica Compton; nine great grandchildren, Jamie Jameson, Kari Jameson, Hollie Fletcher, Tyson Zigler, Lauren Zigler, Brandi Compton, Tanya Pitzer, Kala Mann, and Brandon Wyatt.
