RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Ralph K. Eastwood Jr. age 79 of US Highway # 20 passed away peacefully on Saturday evening September 22, 2013 in Valley Health Services, Inc. Herkimer.

He was born on June 7, 1934 in Mohawk, son of the late Ralph K. Sr. and Dorothy Haggerty Eastwood. A lifelong Richfield Springs resident he was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. On August 25, 1962 he was united in marriage with the former Susan Dingman in Salt Springville.

For fifteen years, Mr. Eastwood was a self employed Dairy Farmer. He later went to work for the Remington Arms Company in Ilion as a tester. He retired in 1994 after twenty-six years of dedicated service.

To all who knew Ralph he loved fishing, camping, boating, reading western novels and rescuing stray cats and dogs. He liked having family and friends around who were sometimes surprised by his quiet sense of humor. Ralph will always be remembered by his friends for his many different collections. He will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his devoted wife of fifty-one years Susan, one brother, Charley Eastwood and his wife Deborah of Syracuse, two nieces, Leisa B. Sweet of Phelps, Monica L. Thomas of Penn Yan and several cousins.

A graveside funeral service will take place on Saturday September 28th at 2:00 pm in the Dutch Reformed Church Cemetery. Town of Columbia. The Reverend Alan Miller will officiate. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to Richfield Springs Emergency Rescue Squad or Dutch Reformed Cemetery Maintenance Fund, c/o Jeff Shaw, Jordanville Road; Richfield Springs, NY 13439.

Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs.
