Lester Milton Carbo, a retired printer for the Jefferson Parish School Board, died Wednesday at his home. He was 83. Mr. Carbo was born in Donaldsonville and lived in Gretna for most of his life. He was a pharmacist mate in the Navy during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn O'Brien Carbo; a son, Gordon Carbo; a daughter, Rebecca Este; two stepsons, Drew O'Brien of North Carolina and Lynwood O'Brien of California; a stepdaughter, Linda Marie Toncrey; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two step-great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held Friday at Westlawn Memorial Park. Mothe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
