BAXTER SPRINGS, Kan. — Gladys Marie Murray, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2007, at her home after a short illness.
She was born in Venus, Neb., on Jan. 20, 1930, to Emil and Hazel Anderson (wrong surname, s/b Adamson).
She was married to John J. Murray on Nov. 21, 1947. They had six children. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1992.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother; five sisters; two daughters, Marquetta Kay Murray and Ethel Ellen Murray; and one grandson, John Daniel Sears.
She is survived by one son, John J. Murray Jr., of Galena, Kan.; and three daughters, Regina (Murray) Sears, of Galena, Mary (Murray) Outt and husband, David Outt, of Galena, and Tammy (Murray) Burton and husband, Stanley Burton, of Columbus, Kan. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; their spouses; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 3. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, at Lowell Cemetery in Lowell, Kan., with Dallas Evans officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of John Derfelt, Derfelt's Baxter Chapel.
