Son of James Reddick Eller and Rosella Kinion,Jake grew up in Speed Kansas. He was married to Doris Gates on April 24,1934 with one son, James Melvin, born to this union. When his sister died in child birth,he an Doris took several of her chidren into their home and raised them like their own. He worked many years as a grain elevator manager. He liked to hunt and fish. An avid smoker, he died of lung cancer April 30,1973.
