Stanley was born in Groton, Vt. on Dec. 22, 1937 to Wendell J. and Florence M. (Bailey) Crown. He graduated from Groton High School and served his country in the US Air Force from Feb. 17, 1961 through March 4, 1965 when he was honorably discharged. Stanley was a lifelong dairy farmer and owned and operated the Crown Farm in Ryegate.
Stanley had a great love for the outdoors and spent his free time hunting, fishing, and sugaring. Family gatherings were special occasions. Recently, he treasured his many visits from family, friends, and neighbors to his home.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, to whom he was married on Jan. 21, 1967. He is also survived by three children; two brothers. He was predeceased by a sister, Nanetta W. Downing. Stanley was also predeceased by his cousin Harry D. Crown on Feb. 1, 2015 and is survived by Harry’s family.
Interment in the Walter Harvey Cemetery, Barnet, Vt. in the spring.
